Today was rainy and kind of gross. Bacon and the kids were feeling a little cooped up so we all decided to take a jaunt into DC. We live about 30 minutes away from DC so it’s not a big thing to go in to the city for a couple hours. We were going to do the Monument, but decided instead to go into the Natural History Museum.
Bacon felt really small next to this super huge horse.
My son was getting sick of carting Bacon around and threatened to mail him off if I didn’t quit making everyone stop in the cool drizzle to take Bacon pictures.
Bacon insisted on stopping for a hot pretzel. The ground was a little cold and wet, but thankfully fat is pretty water resistant so he didn’t get too wet.
Bacon was so thrilled to be touring the pretty crowded museum! He couldn’t decide where to go first.
He decided to browse the oceans exhibit first. It was WAY cool. I told Bacon that I didn’t think all this was here last time we came to the Natural History Museum.
They even had a whole crocheted coral reef. The volunteers had even made crochet jelly fish and coral out of plastic bags and old cassette tapes. Bacon was glad no one made crochet Bacon brain coral or anything.
Bacon was disappointed no one had any bugs out to hold at the Insect Zoo. But he did learn a lot.
Bacon stepped on Ariel’s shoelace and made her trip and fall. He felt awful about it so he helped her tie her shoe. Bacon is very good at tying shoes with only his mouth but needed some help sitting up.
Bacon was so thirsty he felt like he was turning into Bacon jerky. So we stopped for a drink of water.
Bacon saw this pay phone and felt an urge to make a phone call just to say he had used a coin operated phone. He thought they should be in a NON-Natural History Museum.
Bacon thought he would strike up a conversation with the sabre tooth tiger, but it tried to eat him. I rescued him just in time.
As we were leaving, Bacon discovered he had been in the museum illegally! No food! Oops. No one seemed to say anything, though, and no one attempted to devour him. Bacon had great fun and learned a lot at the Natural History Museum!

Poor Bacon, no food allowed. LOL. I am thinking of adopting more food.
Bacon felt he was being unfairly discriminated against. Is there more food as cool as Bacon? I only ever see dog toys with eyes.
Bacon, it seems like you are a fan of the hot pretzel. Is that your favorite food? Just curious.
I’m glad you got out on a gloomy day and got to see so many fun things. Sorry about the sabre tooth tiger. But you must remember how delicious you look.
I asked Bacon what his favorite food was and I swear he said “Bacon!” That’s a little creepy to me. Bacon must agree with the Sabre Tooth tiger.
