Bacon is really interested in the whole process of brewing beer. Since Ray brews beer as a hobby, Bacon decided to get in on the action.
Bacon thought at first Ray was brewing a smoked porter. He was going to add a subtle bacony smokiness to the brew.
Bacon thought the water would be too heavy for him to lift with his little mouth. So he just watched Ray pour the water in to brew.
This is Ray (and Bacon)’s first whole grain brew. So Bacon helped stir the Barley Mash. It smelled like oatmeal. Bacon thought it rather smelled like it needed some milk and brown sugar.
Bacon kept jumping around and yelling “I’m Bacon!” like some hyper little purse dog. So Ray finally picked him up so he could see the mashing and stirring.
Bacon spied Ice Cream passed out on the concrete. He was glad it was cold enough outside that ice cream’s head didn’t melt everywhere.
So he roused Ice Cream and started a lively debate about the merits of different beers. Bacon prefered PBR’s inexpensive easy drinking qualities but Ice Cream definitely like the strawberry sweetness of Fruli Strawberry. He said it was like an alcoholic health smoothie.
Bacon emptied the Barley mash liquid into the big modified brew kettle. For those interested in brewing beer, a big ass kettle is really expensive. So when Ray found a keg by a bar’s dumpster, he grabbed it, cut the top off and VOILA! big ass kettle. For free.
Oh, Bacon! You’re so happy to be helping brew beer, aren’t you?
Watching the wort come to a boil
Bacon had a little tasty taste of the wort. He had to admit, it was REALLY good. Smooth and sweet. He can’t wait for a month when the beer will finally be ready!

Oh, I can tell how happy Bacon was to assist! It’s all in the googly eyes. Happy New Year, Bacon (and Bacon’s parents)!
Happy New Year to you, too! Bacon (and his parents) had a blast last night and he’ll be updating later. Hope you had a great new year’s eve!
