Bacon spent the week liquefying the fat out his nose in the form of a mild cold. Needless to say, by Sunday he was feeling pretty darn restless. It was too cold outside and he was scared his fat would freeze to the sidewalk and he would become a slip hazard. Trevor had a laser tag birthday party to go to. Bacon excitedly cried “I’m Bacon!” to Trevor in hopes he would get to go, too. Alas, Trevor said “Exactly. Bacon isn’t invited.” and left without him! Poor Bacon. His therapy is coming out of Trevor’s allowance money.
ANYWAY… Bacon hung with the girls and got all crafty with his bad meat self. We went to Color Me Mine in Fairfax, near the REI and the Theater there.
First Bacon signed in at the computer.
Bacon had trouble choosing what to paint. And I was terrified he would drop something as he leapt around the shelf to table. I offered to carry something for him but he refused.
Bacon decided he would paint a tile. He was so excited because he had a BRILLIANT idea! He had to pick out colors to paint his brilliant idea first. There were a lot of colors to choose from.
Bacon decided on all his colors and printed the numbers very carefully on his palette.
Then Bacon used his mad artist skillz to make some mad crazy talented drawing of himself!!!! I’m telling you, that Bacon is a talented artist. He drew that whole picture without the use of limbs!
It was painstaking working, filling in all the fine meat lines on Bacon. He took so long we were all tapping our feet and telling him to hurry up already.
But it was worth the wait. Bacon was so proud when he was finished! He just hopes it looks as good after it’s fired. He can’t pick it up for a week and he’s been bugging me how long a week is.
Then Bacon happily paid for his purchase! It was a bit more pricey than he thought it would be. But since he wasn’t using his own nonexistent money, he didn’t really care. He is looking forward to picking up his tile next week, though!

Vincent Van Bacon!!! He is so arty! Who knew that pigmeat paints?
I know! Bacon is like Nancy Drew. Very episode he seems to have a new talent. heehee
Great job on the self portrait, Bacon
Bacon has super steady mouth control. It’s amazing, really.
I don’t know why I just laugh and laugh when I see Bacon sitting in front of a computer or books or something. For a split second, I actually think he can use them.
Can’t wait to see your finished tile, Bacon!
Oh, Kathy.. If Bacon possessed tear ducts he would be weeping. You don’t think Bacon can read the computer? Of COURSE he signed himself in! And of COURSE he is reading the books! Bacon is completely offended!
Bacon! I just read about you on Kathy’s blog. You are very cool, for a piece of meat. I know how to paint too. I am a cat. I hope we can be friends. I promise not to eat you all up.
Oh my GOSH! A whole blog with cats! Bacon is cool with cats. In fact, he quite adores them. They are warm and furry and purry and he LOVES your blog.
This cracked me up! Bacon is an awesome artiste and I can’t wait to see the finished product.
I took my daughter to one of these places and she broke about ten tiles which we had to pay for and she did not get to paint because she doesn’t like to paint broken things and because she doesn’t understand mosaic. I bet Bacon understands mosaic.
I asked Bacon about maybe designing a mosiac for our front nonexistent garden. Bacon just said “I’m Bacon!” I told him “No, MO-SA-IC” and he said “I’m Bacon!” I don’t think he understands mosaic. I might need to get him a book about it.
